Doctor
Riesett earned his BS in Psychology from
Towson University (1992); his MD from The
University of Maryland School of Medicine
(1999) and completed his residency in
Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins-Bayview
Medical Center (2002). He also spent one
year studying Honors Psychology at The
University of Strathclyde in Glasgow,
Scotland.
During
medical school Dr. Riesett was active in his
community and university. He was twice
awarded the Silver Fellowship for excellence
in community service and was voted President
of his class. At graduation he was awarded
for outstanding service to the School of
Medicine.
While a
Resident at Hopkins-Bayview Dr Riesett
completed research related to
gastroesophageal reflux disease. This was
subsequently presented at national meetings
and published. In 2002 he was recognized as
the outstanding Resident in the training
program.
Dr.
Riesett is board certified in Internal
Medicine and admits to Howard County General
Hospital. He is active in the hospital
administration, serving on the Credentialing
and Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics
committees. Prior to joining Charter
Internal Medicine he worked for one year as
a hospitalist with GBMC in Towson.
Dr
Riesett lives in Marriottsville with his
wife and three children. A fourth is
expected in January, 2009. He has special
interests in the role of chronic illness in
the elderly, obesity, cardiovascular disease
and palliative care. |
