Insurance
 

Insurance and billing is an area that can be confusing and sometimes frustrating. Our billing staff will work to minimize this. We will do our best to ensure that your claims are filed correctly and in a timely fashion.

Effective January 1st, 2009 Charter Internal Medicine, LLC will be participating providers with the following insurance carriers:

  • Carefirst BlueCross BlueShield -- all plans

  • Medicare Part B

  • Johns Hopkins EHP

  • Aetna--all plans

  • NCAS

We are actively negotiating with other carriers and will list them as contracts are agreed upon.  Please check frequently for updates.

We participate with many insurance companies in this area. However, there are a few popular plans we DO NOT participate with.

If there are any questions, we ask that you contact your insurance company directly for verification of our participation.

It is your responsibility to inform us immediately upon your arrival of any changes to your insurance information. Failure to do so could result in higher costs for you if claims are not submitted to the correct insurance company or submitted beyond the contracted filing limit.

The billing department staff can help you with any insurance questions you may have regarding how your claim was filed and to whom. However, any issues regarding your specific individual coverage  as stated in your contract should be directed to member services or your group plan administrator.
